Oops - I wrote this and never posted it...sorry!
I was so nervous all morning that they were going to call to tell us that none of our embies survived, but luckily that didn't happen! We had a 10 a.m. arrival for an 11 a.m. transfer. It was sono guided, so I had to drink a big glass of water on the way and another bottle of water when I got there so my bladder would be full. I was annoyed last time that Dr. V was 30 minutes late, but today was SO much worse. He was in surgery and there were apparently serious complications, so he ended up running about an hour late. I was so, so miserable. What they tell you is that if you get too uncomfortable you can let just a little out. Um, can anyone really just let a little out? Maybe people who did their kegels like they were supposed to, but not me. The nurse was really nice. She said if I ended up having to just start over again then we would and she brought me a couple more bottles of water. Dr. V finally showed up just before noon and we were able to get going. We ended up going with plan B. Our first embryo lysed, which means less than 50% survived the thaw. So they thawed the remaining two. They both looked great, with 80% of one surviving and 90% of the other. They don't expect all of the embie to survive, and anything over 70% is considered good. Monte went in with me and we transferred our last two embryos. The transfer went really well, they catheterized me afterwards so I wouldn't have to lay there miserable for 45 minutes, then I rested for a while and we were able to go home. My mom is watching Rhett for me, so that I can just rest for the next couple of days. My plan is to make it through the weekend without really lifting Rhett very much.
I will have my beta blood test on Thursday, 12/18. I have come up with an idea for sharing the news with family over Christmas if it is good news, so I won't post the results until after Christmas either way. Hopefully we will have good news to share soon!
