TWINS!
I had a bleeding scare on Saturday, which was horrible. I was convinced that it was all over. I called Dr. V and he convinced me that it was not a big deal at all and that everything would be fine. He told us to call and schedule an appointment for first thing this morning. We went in and I was so nervous. I was desperate to see a heartbeat. He said we had a sac in the right place, which was great news. But it seemed to take forever for him to zoom in and get still enough for us to finally see that little heartbeat. After that he was moving the probe around taking all sorts of measurements and I kind of zoned out because I was so relieved. Then out of nowhere he says "And there's the second heartbeat." We were completely shocked. I said "Wow, I wasn't expecting that." and Dr. V said, "Me either." :) I had to laugh. They were both measuring three days behind, so he suspects late implantation. That would also explain my somewhat lower than expected betas. The babies heart rates were 116 and 117. We go back in two weeks for a repeat ultrasound. We are a whole lot overwhelmed at the thought of three babies under two, but also very excited. Monte took the news really well. He just said, "It's going to be really hard, but they will have a lot of fun together." I think that pretty much sums it up!
